The Boston Hurricanes Athletics wanted me to create a website and logo for them. The Boston Hurricanes is a Boston-based non-profit athletic organization. They play competitive basketball and volleyball in the north american asian circuit.
The old logo was a simple orange weather hurricane symbol. I utilized the existing team colors and made them more bold and vibrant, using a brighter orange and lighter blue. My theme for the logo was to emphasize speed and quickness worthy of the team name. I created the swirling bands of color around a centralized chinese character for 'Hurricane'. For the font, I used ArtBrush which is an italicized font putting further emphasis on the speed trait.
This logo was well-received with the organization and they have used it on many other items such as letterhead, uniforms, sweatshirts, and banners.
